Directions: 

A “How to…” Speech

 

You are assigned to give a speech explaining and demonstrating the steps necessary to recreate a process.  Informing your audience is the purpose of the speech.  You will be expected to speak for no less than 5 minutes. 

 

You will get to select a process you already are familiar with.  Find something that you can easily present in the classroom.  Further research should not be necessary, but if you want, it is allowed.  Time will be given to do some of the preparation planning in class.  The materials needed to demonstrate your process are your responsibility.  You will have peer, self, and teacher evaluation.

 

Skills you can be concentrating on are:

·        Critical thinking

·        Technical writing

·        Speaking to inform

 

You will need in include:

q       The history/evolution of  _____

q       Explanation/demonstration of process

q       How can ____ be adapted/applied to other things?

q       Why everyone should know how to do _____
