Classroom Expectations

Be Responsible. Be Respectful. Be Safe. 
Materials needed daily for class:
  • Paper and assignment(s)
  • Pencil and or blue/black Pen
  • RED pen for checking
Room 200 Procedure:
1.  Have all material with you when you arrive - be on time.
2.  Sharpen pencil BEFORE class begins.
3.  Stay on task, listen to directions, participate in discussions, and 
               complete assignments.
4.  Everyone is respectful to everyone in the class.
5.  Mrs. Penn and Mrs. Goepel dismiss the class, not the bell.
Consequences:
1st Time - Warning
2nd Time - Conference after class and 30 minute contact slip
3rd Time - Conference after class and 45 minute contact slip
Severe (fighting, vandalism, disrespect, stopping class) - Time out
Call to parent(s), conference AFTER SCHOOL to return to class and a 45 minute contact slip.
Depending on the student's behavior and/or circumstances, Mrs. Penn/Mrs. Goepel may use their discretion when assigning a consequence.
Assignments & Expectations:
Productivity assignments will be graded according to the following scale:
5 points = Assignment completed on time with work
3 points =  Assignment handed in late or incomplete
0 points = NO assignment completed


Grades:
100-90% = A      89-80% = B       79-70% = C    69-60% = D       Below 60% = F
Achievement ( tests, quizzes, special projects and assessments)     80 %
Productivity (homework, work habits, work quality)                           20%
Retakes of tests, quizzes will only be allowed if the overall grade is a D/F.
Re-takes need to be completed within 6 days after the test has been returned to the student.  An additional assignment will need to be completed before the test or quiz can be retaken.  DO NOT wait until the last day to re-take test and quizzes.


Absences:
The student is responsible for finding out what work has been missed.  If notes were taken that day, it is the student's responsibility to obtain a copy of them.  All assignments for the class are listed on the board and written on the calendars in the front of the room.  Remember - the work is the student's responsibility.


Contact information:
Mrs. Penn is generally at school before 7:45 A.M., Monday - Friday.  Tuesday mornings she is in a meeting.  Students may come in see her during 8th period if they are not in choir or band.  Your homeroom teacher will sign the planner for the student to go and see her after Channel One.
The best times to catch Mrs Penn is after school Monday and Thursday from 3:20 - 4:00.  Please call 421-4420.
